📌 Update 1/7: Class is now SOLD OUT. Thanks to all who signed up! We'll see you February 8th. 😊Cultivate a relationship to the desert through the art of salve making with Clinical Herbalist, Lia Aspen.
This gathering is an invitation to slow down and enter into relationship with the Mojave Desert, returning to our human nature through attention, presence, and herbal medicine.
Guided by landscape meditation and tea, we will attune our senses and discover what it means to learn with land rather than from a distance. Through organoleptic exploration (sight, scent, touch, and taste), we’ll study the ecological roles and medicinal properties of native desert plants: Juniper, Pinyon Pine, and Creosote.
Together, we’ll discuss individual observations, plant-ecosystem relationships, and both traditional and modern herbal applications, grounding our learning in respect and care for the desert. Participants will then be guided through the process of making an herb-infused oil into a salve. Each person will leave with a salve they helped create for later use as skincare, first aid, and energetic support.
All materials, including a notebook, light snacks, and tea are provided.
*Please note that this workshop does not teach nor does it encourage wildcrafting of native plants or in fragile desert ecosystems. All plants utilized are sourced from sustainable and cultivated sources.
