About this Event
Get to know the desert through sensory exploration.
Join Clinical Herbalist and California Naturalist Lia Aspen to uncover and build upon our personal connections to the Mojave desert while fostering respect and protection for this landscape. Together, we'll sit in meditation, share tea, learn ecological relationships, and explore the medicinal properties of desert plants Juniper, Pinyon Pine, and Creosote through organoleptic experience. We'll then go through the process of making an herb-infused oil, and everyone will make their own salve to take home.
Things to Know: All materials, snacks, and tea will be provided. Bring a notebook if you'd like. Bring/wear layers as we will be outside.
*Please note that this workshop does not teach nor does it encourage wildcrafting, especially in regards to native plants and fragile desert ecosystems. All plants utilized are cultivated sources.
If cost is prohibitive, please reach out to Lia at [email protected] with the subject line "Desert Plants" to discuss payment options.
