Of course we have a guest list ie. free entry for fellow dance teachers in recognition of their work and commitment to growing our dancing community.
Our wristband policy:
Thereās the normal stripey wristband that 95% wear and you can totally ask them to dance.
We have the blue āI brought watermelonsā wristband, which is for those who have not done any classes, have no clue what they are doing and want some guidance from dancers.
We also have the red, āplease donāt askā wristband. This was introduced after lockdown when not everyone was comfortable being close to strangers. It is now for anyone who is recovering from injury, illness, chemoā¦ anything that will make them vulnerable to falls or injuries and they can only dance with their safe partners who know what not to do and where not to touch, to not aggravate their condition. Please donāt ask anyone with red wristband and donāt enquire what their health problem is.
Music policy: 85-90% salsa, any era, any style, starting slow to help our beginners find their feet, gradually getting more complex and faster. Wish list in place, as long as you message your (reasonable) favourites by Wednesday. Merengue lovers - you need to speak up if you want it, if 4+ people asks you'll have a couple tracks.
This is a venue ran by volunteers, with a very cheap bar and a very good supply of non-alcoholic drinks for drivers alongside your usual booze. Please support the bar and don't bring your own drinks.
Venue is easily accessible by public transport and parking on street in the evening is free.
