Overview:
We will be teaching Cross Body On1 style, which is one of the most popular styles taught in the UK. We teach in a fun, yet informative manner! So you’re guaranteed a laugh or two!
It is common practice to rotate students in the workshop, but if you attend with a partner and would like to remain with them for the duration of the workshop, then please let us know on your arrival.
We would like to keep the leader/follower ratio as even as possible. If you can attend with a partner great, if not we will evenly match individuals. Please remember that you don’t stay with this person for the duration of the workshop, it’s just to keep the numbers balanced. Individuals, couples and groups welcome!
What we will teach in Version 2.0:
This workshop is a continuation from our Introduction workshop, where students learnt the Basic step and Cross Body Lead, with the associated lead/follow techniques. We will recap these moves again briefly, as a refresher, at the beginning.
During the Version 2.0 workshop we will be teaching your first basic turn and more variations on the Cross Body Lead and how to lead/follow them. Plus, we will touch on more solo footwork (shines).
We are hoping that this workshop will help students become more well-rounded dancers and help them move forward on their Salsa journey.
Hopefully by the end of the workshop students will be both confident and competent with all these fundamentals, that help cement the foundations of Salsa dancing.
If you are interested, but unsure whether this workshop is suitable for you, please contact us and we will help guide you.
Useful information:
You can wear whatever you like. However, you may feel more comfortable in clothes that don't restrict your movement. During the colder months, we recommend that you layer up! This is not an exercise class, so just casual clothing.
It would also be helpful to wear shoes that won't slip off or grip the floor. Trainers aren’t ideal, as they restrict your movement and could potentially cause injury. Any comfortable shoe with a smooth sole is adequate.
