CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
***** Beginning Salsa *****
If you have never had a Salsa class before, this is where to start!
If you already Salsa experience, this is where you come to improve your form and function to move to the next level!
This class covers two major topics:
The basic Salsa Step.
• You will learn the fundamental footwork pattern and timing of Salsa Dancing. This is what YOU do with your own feet.
• You will receive custom, at-home, practice drills.
• These simple drills are designed to self intensify as you progress, making them ideal for all levels of Salsa dancers!
• From Beginner to Advanced, EVERY dancer has room to improve their basic step – Come get your tools!
Partner Dancing – The leader / follower relationship
• You will learn how to dance with a partner. (Hint: Partner dancing is not just touching-someone-while-dancing :)
• You will learn how both sides of the lead/follow relationship works, so you will be able to dance confidently and correctly with new partners when social dancing.
Once you feel confident in your Beginner level Salsa basic step, and have a grasp on the leader/follower dance partner relationship, you are ready for some moves!
The Beginning class also contains different beginning level Salsa moves and patterns each week.

***** Intermediate Salsa *****
This class contains Salsa shine footwork, challenging & lead-able turn patterns and the breakdown and study of individual core Salsa moves.
Some additional things covered in this class:
• How to learn new moves and patterns.
All Salsa turn patterns are comprised of core group of fundamental movements. You will learn how to quickly see through flair and fancy variations to extract those core movements. These techniques will simplify your ability to memorize and master new turn patterns!
• Techniques to improve your leading / following ability for better social dancing experiences.
Leaders will learn how to lead with finesse, rather than force, which will make you easier to follow, protect your partners from injury and increase your rate of successful movement completions on the dance floor. This includes simple tips and tricks to ensure your lead is obvious and easy to follow for partners of all levels.
Followers will learn to how to respond to their partners lead through connection rather than prediction or memorization, improving their social dancing with partners of various levels and familiarity. You will also learn how to read, follow and perform non-intuitive core Salsa movements. When being led through both familiar and unfamiliar patterns, you will learn how to own your own footwork, allowing you to be on the correct foot, properly balanced, every time.
This class will improve your understanding and application of fundamental skills and techniques in Salsa dancing. Tuning your performance, through individualized observation and instruction is the fastest way for you to improve your dancing. Do it for yourself; Do it for your partners.
