Come see the award-winning documentary "Sallie's Ashes" at Fairhope Public Library on Tuesday, December 9, at 6 pm, in the Giddens Conference Center. This 40-minute documentary tells the David vs. Goliath story of three Baldwin County grandmothers trying to save their beloved Mobile Bay for their grandchildren. These 80-year-olds set out on a lonely, years-long journey to save the Bay from extremely toxic chemicals leaching into Mobile River from an unlined coal ash pit, and the danger of a catastrophic breach of its berm, sitting astride the river.Co-sponsored by The League of Women Voters of Baldwin County, the Coal Ash Action Group, and Fairhope Public Library.
