Set in the heart of Wiltshire and adjacent to the Stonehenge World Heritage site, the plain is the largest military training ground in the UK and is crisscrossed by numerous green lanes.
This classic but challenging route circles the plain, taking in many of the sights including bombed-out tanks and the German Village training area (as featured on Top Gear) and passes close to Stonehenge. The route also allows for some great views across the plain, a unique landscape in southern England.
The lanes are varied in type from gravel tracks and muddy lanes to open grassland with plenty of options available. We also have a backup route should military red flags be flying on the day to avoid disappointment.
