Salem is a vocal and instrumental trio formed by three students in improvised music: Anahite, Rachel, and Judith.
They met at the Liège Conservatory, and it was through discovering the synergy of their voices and the diversity of their musical influences that the desire to create together emerged.
Although voice is their primary instrument, they enjoy weaving percussion, electric bass, and wind instruments into their compositions and arrangements. Their repertoire draws from free improvisation to traditional music, as well as popular music, jazz, and more — all giving rise to experimental compositions.
Salem is thus a group of musicians celebrating the joy of playing together in a bewitching atmosphere, seeking to reach listeners as closely and deeply as possible.
