The Sakhi Festival conceptualised by Smt. Sisira Das is a unique celebration of India’s classical dance and music, envisioned as a space where tradition meets innovation. Rooted in the meaning of its name —Sakhi, meaning “friend” — the festival emphasizes companionship, collaboration, and community. It is dedicated to nurturing India’s artistic legacy by providing a dignified platform for emerging talent while honoring master artists. Through performances, lecture-demonstrations, and artistic exchanges, Sakhi fosters inclusivity, mentorship, and continuity in the classical arts.
On the third day of the SAKHI Festival, the event starts with Ragasamanwayam— a soulful Carnatic duet by acclaimed vocalists Sudeep Palanad and K. S. Vishnudev. The evening also features a vibrant Kuchipudi recital by Dr. Aswini Nambiar showcasing the expressive depth and rhythmic vitality of this classical dance form.
