About this Event
Saint Tropez is one of the jewels of the French Riviera. Nestled between Nice and Marseille, it is in an ideal location for holidaymakers. A former fishing village and military stronghold, it was famously the first town in France to be liberated by the Allies during Operation Dragoon in the Second World War. Nowadays, Saint Tropez is more famous for its long sandy beaches, glorious summer weather and exclusive hangouts. It is a popular holiday destination for visitors from Europe and beyond, as well as being a renowned celebrity hangout.
At Riviera Bar Crawls, we offer guided touring of Saint Tropez, helping our clients to get the most from their visit. We can offer you a set tour package or create a custom tour to suit your needs. If you’d like more information about the packages we offer, then read on!
What you’ll see during your
Saint Tropez is packed with places to visit and things to see. Here is just a small selection of the attractions you’ll visit on a Saint Tropez private tour with us. This list is by no means exhaustive, there are plenty of other attractions that you’ll want to visit during your stay in Saint Tropez.
- Saint Tropez Port: Perhaps the most iconic feature of Saint Tropez is its small but exclusive port. Guaranteed to be packed with luxury super yachts and a collection of smaller vessels at all times of the year, a great way to spend an afternoon is simply to potter around the harbour, enjoying the views. Plenty of cafes and shops line the promenade, so you’ll be able to enjoy refreshments along the walk.
- La Ponche: As Saint Tropez’s old quarter, La Ponche is home to pretty architecture, narrow streets and a jumble of cafes, shops, and restaurants. The buildings here are jumbled closely together, which gives the area an almost medieval feel, but with a beautiful modern elegance. La Ponche stretches right down to the waterfront, where you can enjoy a romantic seafront dinner and watch one of Saint Tropez’ famous sunsets.
- Citadel Saint Tropez: Sitting on a hill overlooking the town, the Saint Tropez Citadel is an ancient 17th century fortress, which has protected Saint Tropez for centuries. Nowadays, with threats much reduced, the citadel has been converted into a nautical museum, and the scenic roof terrace is open to the public.
- Notre-Dame-de-l’Assomption de Saint-Tropez: This Baroque style church dates back to the 1800s and is one of Saint Tropez’ most renowned landmarks. Painted in a delightful pink and with an iconic bell tower, you’ll definitely want to explore this wonderful attraction.
- Lices Square: What sets Lices Square apart from other public squares in Saint Tropez are the rows of hundred year old trees which dominate the centre. It is a very peaceful experience to wander through the trees, and there are numerous cafes lining the square where you can enjoy a coffee.
- La Gendarmerie Nationale Museum: Housed in a former gendarmerie (similar to a police station), this cultural museum focuses on art and cinematography. Celebrating the local history of film and cinema in Saint Tropez, it is well worth a visit for lovers of French cinema. And the impressive gendarmerie is well worth a look at from the outside, too.
- Annonciade Museum: Another of Saint Tropez’ best museums, this one is housed in a former chapel, dating back all the way to the 1500s. This iconic building now displays a great variety of artwork by prominent artists who lived and worked in Saint Tropez. Some of the artists whose work hangs in the museum include Henri Matisse, Pierre Bonnard, and Georges Braque.
