Dear Members and Friends of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church,We are thrilled to extend our heartfelt invitation to a special celebration in honor of the Feast Day of our namesake, Saint Barnabas, the patron saint of encouragement, on June 16th. This is a profoundly meaningful time for us to unite as a parish, reflect on our shared mission, and draw inspiration from the legacy of Saint Barnabas. We hope this will allow us to connect as a community and embrace the encouragement we all need as we navigate the transition period following our rector’s retirement. Join us as we extend a warm welcome, share uplifting stories, and renew our spirits on this special day of faith, fellowship, and encouragement.
Our celebration will commence with a heartfelt service at 10:30 AM, reflecting on the life and legacy of Saint Barnabas and the profound message of encouragement he represents. After the service, we will partake in a potluck luncheon, offering a valuable opportunity for fellowship, support, and the exchange of uplifting stories and experiences. We plan to introduce our special Collect, written for our period of discernment and the members of the rector’s search committee, and an explanation of the process provided by the Diocese.
Whether you have been a part of our community for a long time or are a newcomer seeking encouragement, we invite you to join us. This celebration is an ideal occasion to reconnect, draw strength from our community, and extend the encouragement we all need. We invite everyone to bring a friend or family member who has never visited Saint Barnabas.
Please bring a dish to share for the potluck and your enthusiasm for a day of faith, fellowship, and encouragement.
