SAGA kommer tilbake til Stavanger etter utsolgt konsert i Stavanger konserthus i 2022. Vi gleder oss.After finishing their “Vital Signs Tour 2023” which took the band through Canada and most of Europe, SAGA will be coming back on tour in 2024.
Founded 1977 by the brothers Jim Crichton (bass, Moog) and Ian Crichton (guitar) together with Michael Sadler (vocals, keyboards, bass), Peter Rochon (keyboards) and drummer Steve Negus.
In 1980 Jim Gilmour took over keyboards, drummers kept changing over the years, with Mike Thorne (since 2012) and Dusty Chesterfield (bass, Moog synthesizer) the band found their current line-up.
22 studio albums, hit singles like “On The Loose” (#26 in the US billboard charts), "Pitchman", "Tired World", "Wind Him Up" and "Humble Stance" prove their musical talent and legacy. SAGA is a live band, early performances like the Rock Pop TV Live show with 27 million viewers (1981), being the first canadian band to play in Budapest at the Sportcsarnok Arena (1982) and the famous “Rock Am Ring” in 1985, have been followed by continuous touring the US, Canada and Europe.
The band has experienced a kind of renaissance in recent years, their music is suddenly rediscovered by many. Live, SAGA are one of the best bands you can experience. Michael Sadler's statement: "We were always honest with the audience and with ourselves, made no compromises, never made music for the sake of the charts."
