About this Event
Suicide prevention is everyone’s business’; that’s the clear message from the Scottish Government since the launch of Scotland’s new Suicide Prevention Strategy – ‘Creating Hope Together’.
We invite you to join us on World Mental Health Day, to take part in this incredibly important training. This is open to all, however may be of interest particularly to small community groups, organisations and volunteers.
Over the course of the training you will learn to:
• Notice and respond to situations where thoughts of suicide may be present
• Move beyond the common tendency to miss, dismiss, and avoid talking about suicide
• Apply the TALK steps: Tell, Ask, Listen, Keep Safe
• Know community resources and how to connect someone with thoughts of suicide to for further support.
Suicide is everyone's business, this awareness training may save a life.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Location - Feeling Strong, Block 5, 2 Seabraes Lane.
