About this Event
Join us for our fourth Skill School session — Harm Reduction 101!
This 2.5-hour workshop (with a break!) focuses on safer drug use and risk reduction in nightlife. We take a non-judgmental approach that’s grounded in evidence, respect, autonomy and care. Whether you use drugs, you might in the future, or you’re thinking about the safety of people around you, this session is designed for you!
We’ll get into:
❤️🩹 Harm Reduction: What is it, and how does it apply to nightlife?
⭐ Set and Setting: How can mindset and environment help reduce risk?
🧠 Need to know: Improve your knowledge about the most commonly used drugs in UK nightlife
🪩 Harm Reduction in context: Strategies for reducing risk at clubs festivals, pubs, and after-parties
⛑ Emergency Scenarios: How best to help in an overdose situation (including spiking)
📚 Resources and Signposting: More about harm reduction services in the UK.
We're calling this a 101, but we'll adapt to the group's knowledge level and encourage sharing through activities. Whether you're new to harm reduction or already involved in nightlife welfare or safer drug use in your work, this session will hold something beneficial for you. There will be time for Q&A and we will provide signposts to resources.
