Welcome Back to the Safer Dutchtown Meetup!
Join us in reimagining community safety.
In the wake of our impactful Safer Dutchtown Summit, our meetup group is more energized than ever, embracing a fresh perspective on safety. We are a dynamic assembly of residents, business owners, and community leaders, all committed to transforming Dutchtown into a safer, more vibrant community. Our focus extends beyond discussions — we're dedicated to developing innovative, practical solutions and orchestrating our collective efforts to tackle this generation's 'wicked problem' of community safety.
Our Collective Mission: Facilitated by the Neighborhood Innovation Center and funded by the Dutchtown Community Improvement District (DTCID), in collaboration with Dutchtown Main Streets and many other key community organizations, our goal is unwavering: to create a safer, thriving Dutchtown. We explore a wide range of topics, including practical safety practices and strategies to address the root causes of issues affecting our community.
Introducing Connected Dutchtown: Connected Dutchtown is a comprehensive safety initiative with three key components:
Curated Camera Network (CCN): Offering up to two free public-facing AI cameras per location for businesses within the DTCID footprint to aid in evidence gathering and resolution post-incident.
Community Camera Partnership (CCP): A registry of private security cameras, empowering residents and businesses to contribute to crime-solving efforts.
Managed Camera Network (MCN): Featuring Flock Safety's AI-powered, solar-powered automatic license plate reader cameras, accelerating the crime-solving process.
Get Involved: Participation in Connected Dutchtown is open to all within our community. Whether you're a resident, a local business, or just someone who cares about Dutchtown, there's a role for you. For more information on how to join the CCN and CCP, visit our sign-up pages: CCN Sign-Up and CCP Sign-Up. Additionally, if you're a law enforcement agency, business, or citizen within the DTCID footprint and need to request footage after an incident, please use this link and follow the outlined procedures on our upcoming Safer Dutchtown website.
Together, We Build a Safer Community: Join us as we not only address immediate safety concerns but also work to tackle the underlying issues that affect our community. Your involvement is key to building a safer Dutchtown. Let's make a difference together.
Join us to be a part of this exciting journey.
