Safeguarding Our Youth: Empowering Families Against Harm

Raising awareness on preventing youth violence, exploitation, and related risks by strengthening family and communities.
About this Event

Brent continues to experience challenges related to youth violence, knife crime, exploitation, and safeguarding risks. Feedback from families, alongside local authority and police data, highlights that many parents and carers feel unsure about how to recognise early warning signs or where to seek support before harm occurs. Families are one of the strongest protective factors for young people, but only when they are informed, confident, and connected to the right services. This event directly responds to that need by offering accessible, preventative education in a trusted community setting.

This community awareness event is designed to equip parents, carers, and older siblings with the knowledge, awareness, and confidence to help keep young people safe.

Focus:

● Increase understanding of youth violence, knife crime, exploitation, and online risks

● Help families recognise early warning signs and risk factors

● Strengthen links between families and local support services

● Promote preventative, community-led solutions to youth safety
