About this Event
Get Outdoors Day Colorado and SouthWest Denver Coalition are joining forces to host Safe Summer Kick Off on National Get Outdoors Day, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Garfield Lake Park from 10am to 3pm. This free, family-friendly event is designed to promote access to healthy and safe outdoor spaces, support under-resourced communities, and celebrate nature exploration.
Our shared goal is to build community cohesion and empower community residents. We do this by:
- Providing the community current and direct connections to providers that can address a variety of health, education, and employment needs as well as promote a healthy and safe summer.
- Fostering and facilitating an educational experience that encourages participants of all cultures, skill levels, and ages to interact with the outdoors and our public lands - local, state, and federal.
The event is free to the community and offers a variety of entertainment, activities, and food.
Becoming an Exhibitor at Safe Summer Kick Off on Get Outdoors Day gets you a booth space for the June 4th event at Garfield Lake Park where we expect over 5,000 community members.
For both private and public organizations, participation is a great opportunity for providers to network with each other and directly connect with and inform the community of services and resources available to them in a friendly, positive, safe, and healthy atmosphere.
