Preventing & Managing Dental Surgical Complications
Presenter: Dr. Christopher Walker
This lecture is intended to give today’s practitioner a look at complications in dentistry with a specific focus on surgical procedures including dental extractions, implant placement, sinus augmentation, bone grafting, and tissue grafting. The lecture will review surgical principles with regard to blood supply, flap design, wound stability, relevant anatomy, and some material selections for what equipment the surgeon may elect to use. It will also cover complications arising from deviating from these surgical principles, as well as complications related to patient conditions or medications.
