Day 1: Connecting to the Spirit of the Drum
We begin by opening sacred space, connecting with the materials, and setting your personal and group intentions.
This day is a deep dive into presence, reflection, and creation, where you will:
🌿 Connect with the hide and awaken your inner drum maker
🌿 Experience a group sound journey to awaken your spirit
🌿 Cut and prepare your drum’s face, paint your hoop, and craft your sinew
🌿 Learn to connect with existing drums and explore their unique voice
We share a nourishing lunch, offering time to connect with your fellow creators, reflect, and integrate the day’s experiences.
Day 2: Birthing Your Drum & Awakening Your Voice
Day two is all about weaving your essence into your drum and embracing the healing and transformation that arises.
🌊 Receive a sacred sound healing session to open the heart
🌊 Take a reflective walk by the water, releasing what no longer serves you and cleansing your drum’s hide
🌊 Gather back for morning tea, then begin the birthing process of your medicine drum
🌊 Complete your drum and seal it with your prayer, song, and intention
This is a heart-led day of honouring the sacred within and around you, supported by the collective energy of your group.
