It's time to ride!!The second annual Sacramento Black Cowboys Parade and Music Festival will be bigger, better and more fun than even as we have more horses, more fun for the kids and the best food and entertainment in the entire state of California. This going to be big y'all so don't mess around with getting tickets early cause this dang event is going to be sold out and filled with people having fun. There will be cowboys and cowgirls from across the nation in the big parade riding horses, ponies and wagons. The parade will also celebrity riders and a special tribute to the Black Cowboy. This is Black History alive all-day at McClatchy Park in Sacramento. There will be demonstrations from rodeo riders and games for the little cowboys and cowgirls. The entertainment will be off the hook! We are having blues bands, singers, line dancing, steppin' and so much fun you won't stop getting your boogie on. Put on your cowboy gear and you may win a prize as the Best Dressed Cowgirl; Cowboy; Lil Cowgirl or Lil Cowboy for the kids. Get dem boots and hats ready!
Now lets talk about the grub. The Big Boss BBQ Cook-Off is back and i tell ya these folks can cook some que, plus soul food, western food and all kinds of delights. And when you come in these gates get ready to enjoy food from 20 different vendors with everything from seafood to burgers, to ice cream to whatever you want.

This will be celebrated on Sunday July 28, 2024 with a magnificent parade though the Oak Park community of Sacramento ending at McClatchy Park for a Community Festival filled with blues concerts, food, horses, riding demonstrations, a petting zoo, a kid’s zone and family fun. The vent will feature the “Big Boss” BBQ Cook-Off to crown the best of the best in cooking barbecue.
The event will begin with an assembly of horses, wagons, marching bands, drill teams and people near the Oak Park Community Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Street. The amazing processional will proceed on Broadway to 35th Street and into McClatchy Park at 3500 5th Ave.
We will create an atmosphere of unity, and harmony in Oak Park with men. women, boys and girls all coming together to celebrate history with an incredible processional of amazing animals, people and families.
The Black Cowboys are an intricate piece of American history with stories that must be told.
