About this Event
Are you ready to roll up your sleeves and make a difference in Sackville Gardens, a vital space for Manchester's LGBTQ+ community? Manchester Pride invites you to join our volunteer team as we clean and restore this incredible park, including the Alan Turing memorial, and show our support for LGBTQ+ history.
What to Bring:
Sensible shoes for outdoor work
Gardening gloves (if you have them)
Warm clothing for the weather
Rest assured, we provide all the gardening equipment you need!
Why Sackville Gardens Matters:
Sackville Gardens is a haven for the LGBTQ+ community, a place of acceptance, and a tribute to resilience right in the heart of Manchester's Gay Village. In addition to the Alan Turing memorial, it features the Beacon of Hope memorial for HIV/AIDS and the National Trans Memorial and the LGBTQ+ Queen Bee.
By volunteering, you help preserve this vital space, ensuring it remains a symbol of hope, love, and unity for future generations.
We would love to create a dedicated group of volunteers to meet each month, but if you can only sign up for a few then that's okay! Please use this page to sign up for as many shifts as you can, it's really appreciated.
If you have any questions please contact [email protected].
