Sábados en Familia is a free kids’ cultural arts and crafts program delivered by the Emma S. Barrientos Mexican-American Cultural Center. The program takes place at libraries all over Austin. Families with kids of all ages can participate for free. A craft project follows the read-along.
This month, we will be reading "'Twas Nochebuena" written by Roseanne Thong and illustrated by Sara Palacios. With a lovely story that follows a family as they prepare to celebrate Christmas Eve, the participants will be making a poinsettia (nochebuena) windsock which they can decorate and hang as a Christmas decoration.
*Kid- friendly, all ages
*Hands-on story and activity for families
*Cultural art education
