About the play:
In a world where the lines between true feminism and its distorted forms blur a modern young woman wrestles with questions about her identity and purpose. Just as confusion sets in she encounters Saavi—an embodiment of resilience inspired by the legendary Savitribai Phule. Draped in a traditional navvari saree Saavi takes her on a journey through time revealing the struggles of women in pre-independence India who fought for the right to education. As past and present collide the young woman is faced with a powerful realization: the torch of progress must not be dimmed.
A thought-provoking play that challenges perspectives and ignites a conversation on the responsibility of today’s generation in honoring the battles won.
