Relay for Life is a global movement which brings together people and communities to remember those lost to cancer, support those still fighting cancer and to celebrate those who have survived it. An important aspect of Relay for Life is the fundraising which goes towards the Cancel Council. Cancer Council is a community-funded organisation which works to support cancer patients, carers and the broader community through support services, research, advocacy and prevention programs. ?? ??Students for Refugees is eager to be joining Relay for Life again this year because we know that cancer does not discriminate. We know that people of refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds are particularly disadvantaged in the battle against cancer due to the lack of services and supports at their grasp. Consequently, whilst we raise funds for cancer supports and services targeted towards the larger community we still want to take this opportunity to spread awareness about how cancer affects people of refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds. ?
