This course typically costs between 150 and 250$ per person, and the LNTCFS will cover the costs as well as host a BBQ lunch on Day 2 before the field portion of the course.Upon attendance of both days and passing a standard written test - participants will receive S100/ S185 certificates (valid for 1 year - renewable annually online for 25$). All forestry workers and BCWS personnel must have a valid S100 certificate to engage in wildfire suppression.
This course will be a combination of classroom and field components - emphasis on learning about how wildfires behave within forested landscapes (fuels, topography, and weather) along with practcle wildfire suppression techniques (water delivery systems, handtools).
