Notes: Pre-course work. The pre-course work is a professional reading assignment. Students are required to buy and read the material in advance of the instructor-led portion of S-339. The Cadre will lead a discussion based upon information found in the book. This information will coincide with the learning objectives for this course. Students will be called upon individually or in group format in order to render opinions based on the following reading: The Mission, the Men, and Me: Lessons from a former Delta Force Commander​ (New York: Dutton Caliber; 2008), Pete Blaber
Course Description: This course prepares students to perform in the role of Division/Group Supervisor (DIVS). It provides instruction in support of the specific tasks of the Division/Group Supervisor, but will not instruct students in general management/supervision or in the Incident Command System (ICS), both of which the student should learn through prerequisite work. Topics include division or group management, organizational interaction, division operations, all-hazard operations, and tactical decision games (optional). The pre-course work consists of a professional reading assignment that can take from four to eight hours to complete. There is a final examination in this course.
The cost is $75.00 per class for Wyoming based students or $300.00 for students based outside Wyoming.
