A panel discussion on the work of painter and poet Bernard Réquichot, with Éric Méchoulan, Eric Robertson, Craig Moyes and James Wishart
About this Event

Beginning in April, a major new exhibition at the Pompidou Centre in Paris showcases the work of the remarkable artist and poet Bernard Réquichot (1929-1961). With complex rhythmic networks and "graphic traces" invading the surface of his plastic works, with sound poetry and “unreadable writing” the focus of his texts, Réquichot pushed drawing, painting and language to its limits.

Approaching his work through the broad concept of rhythm, guest speakers Éric Méchoulan (Emeritus Professor of French, Université de Montréal) and Eric Robertson (Professor of French, Royal Holloway University of London) will briefly introduce Réquichot before being joined by Craig Moyes and James Wishart (DLLC, KCL) for a panel discussion. A drinks reception will follow.
