Ryssby Candlelight Services

Don't miss the annual tradition of celebrating Advent at the beautiful Ryssby Church, adorned with candlelight and resonating with wonderful music. This year's Ryssby Candlelight Worship services will be held on:

• Saturday, December 14 at 4:00 PM, 5:15 PM, 6:30 PM, and 7:45 PM
• Sunday, December 15 at 4:00 PM, 5:15 PM, and 6:30 PM

Each year, the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont, Colorado, proudly hosts the Ryssby Christmas Candlelight Services at the historic Ryssby Church, a landmark established by Swedish settlers in 1878. This cherished tradition, which began in 1938, brings together a series of seven services over the second full weekend of December. Attendees can look forward to music from the First Lutheran Chancel Choir and other musicians, traditional Christmas carols, and the Christmas Story, as told in the Gospel of Luke, read in Swedish.

Saturday services will be conducted by Pastor Jeanne Larsen who lives in Berthoud and serves in Strausburg, and Sunday services by Pastor Garrett Struessel of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Longmont.

How to Make Reservations:

Reservations can be obtained online HERE! Simply choose your preferred date and time from the dropdown list and click the orange "REGISTER" button. Alternatively, you can submit the reservation request form included in the weekend bulletin and return it to the church office, or email Peggy Shupe at [email protected], or call Peggy at 303-638-0036.

Please note that reservations are required for entry and will be limited to 175 per service. Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to secure your spot early! The deadline for reservations is December 13.
