About this Event
Join Resilient Young Minds Inc. and community members as we walk in solidarity to raise awarenss about depression & suicide in our community.
In addition to walking for a cause, participants will also be exposed to various mental wellness resouces at our vendor section, as well as engage in a yoga meditation or Art therapy demo. We aim not to just raise awareness about suicide we want to provide solutions.

Yoga Demo Sessions
Host: Yahhila
Info: Founder of Shining star wellness will provide a 20minute Yoga Meditation Demo. Bring your own mat. There will be limited mats available to rent.
Art Therapy Demo Sessions
Info: Participants will have an opportunity to participate in a therapeutic sip n paint.
WALK KICK-OFF
Host: Simone Muschett, LMSW
Info: Founder, Simone Muschett will Welcome all participants , share some facts and stat about Suicide. The we will begin a guided Nature Therapy Walk that Simone facilitates through the beautifully updated Canarsie Park and Pier.
SPEAK-UP & SPEAK OUT Open Mic
Info: Participants have an opportunity to share their testimonies, stories or honor someone they may have lost to suicide. This can be delivered in any expressive art form the participant choses. Including, but not limited to, poetry, singing, talking, dancing, etc. The purpose of this part is to empower our community to speak-up about the pain, trauma and impact that has stemmed from Suicide.

Vendor Wellness Fair
Info: Various vendors that provide products or services that support or improve mental health. Or provide avenues of Self-Care for youth, parents and adults. Participants will have an opportunity to stop at the vendor tables throughout the duration of the entire event.
