At the frayed bottom-edge of Indiana – just a moderate bike ride north of LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY – multi-instrumentalist, artist and songwriter RYAN DAVIS’ Americana-noir soundwaves have been emanating for years in a myriad of forms. As driving force for the lauded STATE CHAMPION, long-running member of TROPICAL TRASH, administrator of the esoteric and excellent CROPPED OUT festival, and lone proprietor of the SOPHOMORE LOUNGE label, Davis has branched off under his own head of steam (and name) and taken the world by storm. His debut LP Dancing On The Edge made it on to many AOTY lists in 2023 and was embraced by Bill Callahan, no less. Comparisons to David Berman, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Kurt Vile and even Comes A Time-era Neil Young don’t hurt neither. They are supporting MJ Lenderman around the traps, but come see them off their own bat in all their own glory - it will be something else, I assure you.
