Despite frequent talk of nuclear escalation since 2022, most Russian nuclear messaging was not about explicit nuclear threats, but about amplifying uncertainty and fear, while Western leaders consistently tried to dampen escalation. The PRCP and SWP have recently published a working paper that systematically tracks nuclear signaling from Russia and NATO during the war in Ukraine, tracing how these dynamics have evolved during the Biden era, since autumn 2021 to January 2025. Come join us on January 27th at 19:00 in Kavárna Na Boršově where we will introduce the study and discuss its implications it with the authors!
The event will take place in English.
