Welcome to the Russ Mawby Day of Service 2025 at Fenner Nature Center!

Join us Friday May 16th for a day of service in Lansing!

Each year, the Russ Mawby Signature Service Project brings hundreds of AmeriCorps members to different Michigan communities for a day of intensive service. This year Mid-Michigan will host it's second project in three years at Fenner Nature Center. Fenner Nature Center is an environmental education center encompassing 134 acres of publicly accessible green space. The property includes over four miles of trails, rolling glacial eskers, towering maple groves, and a Visitor Center!

Volunteer activities will consist of pulling invasive species, trail maintenance, beautifying outdoor learning spaces, sprucing up the Visitor Center, and more.

Snacks, lunch, and a t-shirt are provided with your registration. Also, we will provide water, sunscreen, and bug spray. Most activities will take place outside and the project will take place rain, snow, or shine so dress for the weather! Deadline to apply is 5:00 pm Friday, April 25.

• Registration & morning snacks: 9:00am - 9:30am
• Kick off/break up into teams: 9:30 am - 10:00am
• Service!: 10:00am - 12:00pm
• Lunch on site: 12:00 pm - 12:45 pm
• Service!: 12:45 pm - 3:00 pm
• Wrap up/reflection: 3:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Please note: Registration is for currently serving AmeriCorps State, VISTA & SeniorCorps members. If you have questions regarding your attendance requirement, check with your program director! Parking is free on site.
