Richmond jazz mainstay Russ Hanchin (Django Tango) brings his signature guitar style and rich musical legacy to the Révéler stage for an intimate evening of classic jazz.Russ Hanchin is a Berklee-trained guitarist whose musical journey has included stints in St.Louis with legendary organist Richard “Groove” Holmes and tenor sax icon Willie Aikens as well as countless club dates throughout RVA. This program of classic jazz features selections from the Great American Songbook, the sensual rhythms of Brazilian bossa nova and infectious swing of Django Reinhardt’s hot jazz.
Hanchin leads a stellar trio with bassist Carter Blough and drummer Forrest Young. Special guest Allen Burris (Django Tango, Deputy Dan) adds his clarinet and flute artistry to the mix.
