Rural Justice Summit 2025 | Cumbre de Justicia Rural 2025

On November 7-8, 2025, the Rural Justice Summit (RJS) will bring together and center farmers/land ecosystem tenders in both rural and urban areas of California.

Hosted by the California Farmer Justice Collaborative in Merced, CA, the Summit seeks to secure relationships with rural and urban farmers, land tenders, food producers, to increase our knowledge on the importance of connections as it pertains to our watershed, foodshed, energy shed, social justice shed and beyond.

The Rural Justice Summit is designed to uplift current issues facing historically underserved communities that steward the land in California, and bring together local leaders innovating solutions to those challenges. Through the tracks outlined in the RJS Ecosystem, the Summit will facilitate the sharing of diverse stories, struggles and resources from herbalists, cooks, farmers, aggregators, distributors, specialty crop cultivators, youth, activists, disabled/differently-abled land tenders, artists and accomplices.

El 7 y 8 de noviembre de 2025 , la Cumbre de Justicia Rural (RJS) reunirá y centrará a los agricultores y las licitaciones de ecosistemas terrestres en áreas rurales y urbanas de California.

Organizada por California Farmer Justice Collaborative en Merced, California, la Cumbre busca asegurar relaciones con agricultores rurales y urbanos, licitadores de tierras y productores de alimentos, para aumentar nuestro conocimiento sobre la importancia de las conexiones en lo que respecta a nuestra cuenca hidrográfica, cuenca alimentaria, cuenca energética, cuenca de justicia social y más allá.

La Cumbre de Justicia Rural está diseñada para visibilizar los problemas actuales que enfrentan las comunidades históricamente marginadas que administran la tierra en California, y para reunir a líderes locales que buscan soluciones innovadoras a estos desafíos. A través de las vías descritas en el Ecosistema RJS, la Cumbre facilitará el intercambio de diversas historias, luchas y recursos de herbolarios, cocineros, agricultores, agregadores, distribuidores, cultivadores de cultivos especializados, jóvenes, activistas, propietarios de tierras para personas con discapacidad o capacidades diferentes, artistas y colaboradores.

Info: The first annual RJS Food + Farm Tour offers three regional routes throughout the Central Valley: Visalia, Fresno and Merced. Each tour includes 2-3 stops at local farms and food hubs focused on agroecological practices. All tours will end at Sweet Valley Produce in Merced, CA, for a beautiful community dinner event featuring four chefs and local produce. // El primer Tour Anual de Alimentos y Granjas de RJS ofrece tres rutas regionales por el Valle Central: Visalia, Fresno y Merced. Cada tour incluye de 2 a 3 paradas en granjas locales y centros de alimentos enfocados en prácticas agroecológicas. Todos los tours finalizarán en Sweet Valley Produce en Merced, California, para una hermosa cena comunitaria con cuatro chefs y productos locales.

Info: This year’s Rural Justice Summit is designed around land tenders and farmer justice. At the heart of the Summit is the Farmer Resource Village, which will include local produce from our featured farmers, community activations, skill shares and art activations. In addition to traditional workshops, panels and fish bowl conversations, the Rural Justice Summit will facilitate grounded community engagement and relationship building through exciting offerings such as the Trashion Passion Fashion Show, live mural painting, agroecological design charettes, a health and wellness center and more! // La Cumbre de Justicia Rural de este año se centra en las licitaciones de tierras y la justicia campesina.
