It’s a Metric Half Marathon !! (13.1km)
For five years we did the Orbital. Now we’re ringing the changes, and the venue. This year we’re going to do a quirky new distance. A half marathon, but not as you know it. Not 13.1 miles, but 13.1 km (a metric half marathon). That’s 8.1 miles.
Why the new distance? – Well the Orbital was 22km (13.7 miles) and that’s a long way. Some of our members don’t run that far, so we’ve introduced this more inclusive distance.
We can tell you that the course is super smooth, very flat surface - almost all smooth tarmac. One 600m section is fine compact sand/gravel which you do twice.
Picnic after, like at the Orbital? Why not – there is a perfect large grass area off the back of the route which is perfectly suitable. We’ll book good weather, don’t worry!
