Sunday bRUNch rolls through winter at the DST time of 8:30 AM
The RUNegades welcome all paces and faces--even walkers. Seriously, at least one of us is either
a. HURT or
b. SLOW or
c. cursing the fact that it's 8:30 on a Sunday. or
d. ALL of the above.
Sure, we've got the fast people too, but the bottom line is this: we're all FUN people. We'll set out from Steel City at 8:30 and return to Steel City some miles in the future for take-out coffee and brunch. (Groups typically run 3.3, 5, and 7+ miles)
*Important note*: PLEASE READ THE RUNegades' SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOLS BELOW:
RUNegades Social Distancing Protocols (with many thanks to the Fishtown Beer Runners, from whom we adapted this policy).
We want to emphasize the RUNegades commitment to providing a safe running environment and a pleasant experience for all of our members. We cannot stress enough the importance of social distancing and following the recommendations from the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Chicago Area Runners Association & Road Runners Clubs of America Group Operational Preparedness Guidelines.
As many areas are entering the Green Phase and restrictions begin to loosen up, there is still risk in running and socializing in groups. While some of you may disagree with the amount of inherent risk there is associated with the Coronavirus, and some are willing to take on more risk than others, as an organization, a brand, and as a club, we must err on the side of caution and consider the health concerns of all. It is our runners’ responsibility to follow the proper social distancing protocols.
Social Distancing Guidelines
At the Start/Meeting Point
• Wear a mask.
• Stay at least 6 feet a part.
• Avoid hand shaking, high-fives, fist-bumps, and hugging.
• Avoid shouting.
During the Run
• Stagger the start. Fast runners first followed by slower paces.
• Take different routes to the destination when possible.
• Do not run in packs and try to remain separated.
• Wear a mask whenever possible, especially when running through congested areas. Do not wear a mask if you have other health concerns that preclude it. If you are isolated from others, you may remove your mask, but keep it handy. Be considerate and remember wearing a mask is for the protection of other people and not only for your own protection.
• Do not spit or blow your nose without a tissue.
At the Destination
• Follow all protocols established by the run destination location.
• Wear a mask when not drinking or eating.
• Do not share food or drinks.
• Spread out as much as possible in a well-ventilated area.
• Wash your hands frequently.
• Be considerate of patrons and staff.
Other
• Do not participate if you have a fever.
• Do not participate if you traveled and are subject to quarantine.
• Bring and use hand sanitizer.
• Stay hydrated.
If you choose to run, it is at your own risk and you must follow the social distancing protocols. If you do not want to follow the social distancing standards or consistently break the protocols, our RUNegades run leaders will ask you not to participate in group run activities but to wait to join in after social distancing protocols are lifted. If you feel uncomfortable participating in group run activities, you are encouraged to run on your own, and join us for any of our online meetings.
