Katie Spotz, endurance athlete, charitable ambassador, author, world-record holder and Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar, will embark on her latest ultra-endurance challenge and fundraising initiative Run4Water on June 21, 2021 in her home state of Ohio. Her goal is to break the female world record for the most consecutive ultra-marathons in a row by completing eleven daily 31-mile runs. Katie has invited local runners to join her for the first part of her run in true Forrest Gump style. The challenge also aims to raise $34,100 to fund 11 clean water projects for Ugandan schools through a partnership with non-profit H2O for Life.
WHO: Media, Rotary Club members and running enthusiasts
WHAT: Join Katie Spotz as she attempts to set a new world record. If you’re up for it, run with Katie for the first 1-½ miles in true Forrest Gump style. Then return to the starting point to complete a 5K. Free coffee and bagels for runners and non-runners!
WHEN: June 21st, 2021: Media interviews from 7:30-7:45am. Runners arrive at 7:45am. Run begins promptly at 8:00am
