The Half Marathon starts and finishes inside the US Army's Camp Merrill on the airfield. All but about 2 miles is off pavement with most being in the trailing grounds for the Army Rangers. The course is challenging, but rewarding. The 10k is a mix of trails and road and also challenging after all this is the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The 5k is much easier with mostly road, but remember this is the North Georgia mountains so you won't escape the hills. All courses are supported with aid stations and well marked so you won't get lost in the woods.
