Run & Film Night at Kong
Date: Sat Dec 07 2024
Time: 17:30 - Late
What: Join us for a social demo run, enjoy a great film, or make an evening of it and do both!
Get ready for an exciting evening of running and film at Kong! A highlight of the night will be a screening of the short film 'George'. We're honoured to be bringing this film to you and to share an incredible story and piece of filmmaking. 'George' has received great acclaim amid sold-out shows since its release and you can read more about the film below. We're also pleased to have Jacob Tonkin along for a Q&A and discussion after the film.
Join us before the film for a demo run organised in conjunction with Moonlight! They will be there with a test pool of their superb headtorches to try out, which are crafted to provide the durability and safety to allow you to adventure on into the night. Let's light up Keswick's trails! This will be a social run and suitable for those who are comfortable running 10km off-road. Why not bring your friends and make an evening of it?
On the evening there will be also be spot prizes and our shop will be open late with an event-exclusive 25% discount to take advantage of!
Fundraising for Climbers Against Cancer
We'll be raising money for Climbers Against Cancer on the night, and any donations of any size are encouraged to support this cause. Find out more about the charity here: www.climbersagainstcancer.org
About 'George'
Equal parts beautiful, inspiring and heartbreaking, Jacob Tonkin, a Cumbrian fellrunner, shares his incredible story of coming to terms with a debilitating disease, the depression that followed, and how his incredible bond with his dog, George, may have saved his life. This, however, is only half of the story...
A James Appleton film featuring Jacob Tonkin and George Fifer Tonkin, shot entirely in the Lake District over several years.
