AUDITIONS: North State Children, grades K-12, open auditions for the 50-60 acting roles on Monday, March 17th, 3:30-5:30 pm at the Vista Preparatory Academy, 1770 South Jackson Street, Red Bluff.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre presents Rumplestiltskin, an original adaptation of the classic children’s story. A strange little gnome appears from here, there and everywhere. He will spin your straw into gold…for a price. If his price is too steep, you must guess his name…
RUMPELSTILTSKIN will be presented on Saturday March 23 at 3 pm and 7 pm at The Historic State Theater 333 Oak St Red Bluff. The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Red Bluff is brought to you by Tehama County Arts Council with support from local Sponsors.
Tehama County Arts Council is excited to announce that our Missoula Children’s Theater is BACK this year with RUMPLESTILSKIN as our performance! The Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’s largest touring children’s theatre, has been touring extensively for more than 40 years now from Montana to Japan, and will visit nearly 1,200 communities this year with up to 44 teams of Tour Actor/Directors. A tour team arrives in a given town with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up, everything it takes to put on a play…except the cast. The team holds an open audition and casts 50-60 local students to perform in the production. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and two public performances are presented on Saturday. All MCT shows are original adaptations of classic children’s stories and fairytales . . . a twist on the classic stories that you know and love. Also included in the residency are three enrichment workshops presented by the Tour Actor/Directors. Creativity, social skills, goal achievement, communication skills and self-esteem are all characteristics that are attained through the participation in this unique, educational project. MCT’s mission is the development of life skills in children through participation in the performing arts.
We are accepting sponsorships for this event to make it as affordable as possible for our community. Please visit www.tehamaarts.org to donate.
Tickets will be for sale at the door, $10 for adults, $5 for students 6-18, and free for 0-5!
