HEY YOU GUUUUYYYYSSSSS..... Grab four of your derby buds and form your own team of 5 to compete in this super fun, full contact, open Goonies tournament! Skaters will be "camping out" all weekend in the Astoria Armory and will need to bring sleeping bags, pillows, etc. Each skater will need to bring a black and white shirt/tank with their name and number. No other colors will be accepted. In addition to skating, skaters will have the opportunity to visit the Goonies House and the Oregon Film Museum. There will be open skate sessions & an 80s themed costume contest! Food and swag will be available for purchase. Breakfast will be provided for all skaters. Lunch and Dinner items available for purchase.
Skaters must be cleared to play Level 3 (full contact) with their home league to participate. The first 24 teams to complete the Team Interest form will be invited to register for the event. Subsequent teams will be placed on a wait list should any teams back out.
Registration cost for this event is $100 per skater (not team) and includes overnight accommodations, breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and entrance to all external events.
All teams must be registered in full by August 30th. Waitlisted teams will be notified ASAP and have until September 15th to complete registration.
How it works:
Teams
> 24 Teams
> 5 skaters per team
Tournament Breakdown
> Each team is guaranteed 3 Games (21 jams)
> The top 16 teams will go onto round 2 games (additional 7 jams)
> The top 8 teams will go into the round 3 to declare Champions
Game Play
> 8 teams per game, each team will get 7 total jams in rotation
(each team will go out every 4th jam)
> 4 teams on black, 4 teams on white
> Jams go full 2 minutes, lead identified, but not able to call off
> 14 jams per 1/2, total of 28 jams
> No official reviews or Team timeouts
> Box will be cleared at the start of each jam
> Players will foul out with 7 penalties, the team of 5 must continue with 4 (or less) if this occurs
Scoring (for each jam)
> 5pts to the team who scores the most points
> 2pts are awarded to each team if tied
> 0pts for loss
> 1pt added to team with the lead jammer
> -1pt for each penalty
