A brilliant ensemble of the most creative and virtuosic Baroque players in North America described by San Francisco Classical Voice as “the world’s only period-instrument rock and,” Ruckus creates visceral and playful concert experiences that fuse the early-music questing and creative spirit with the grit, groove, and jangle of American music. The unique feature of Ruckus is that they improvise over original scores, so this early music is presented in ways rarely (if ever) heard. Their performances move from the serene and sumptuous to grooving and boisterous, but always authentic and passionate. The concert program "Strawberry Fields" is a joyous feast of rustic dances from the 18th century. Featuring Ruckus’ dazzling arrangements, this program will have audiences craving to get on their feet! This concert will be hosted in collaboration with Friends of Chamber Music.
Remember -- the concert is FREE! Concert attendees will have the opportunity to chat with the musicians (and each other!) at a casual cookies-and-punch reception following the performance.
