Rubie, Smoking Room, Dog Head Valley and Josephine showcase ardent, intricate and totally unique pieces to raise money for gender affirming care for Brighton local!!!! Rubie is a Glasgow-based songstress, producer, and profound storyteller. Winner of End of the Road's Next Wave 2025 and fresh from opening on tour with Jasmine.4.t, Rubie's work blends high drama piano balladry, polymetric twitch-pop and transcendent plainsong, presented in an urgent and theatrical live show.
Themed around chosen family, t4t love and surviving hetero apocalypse, Rubie's second album Seek Sisters was released in late 2024, and has since drawn glowing praise from The Quietus ("Brilliantly restless"), Get in Her Ears ("Truly spellbinding") and legendary director of The Matrix Lilly Wachowski.
Smoking Room is the solo project of Misha Phillips stylistically indebted to shoegaze, outsider folk music, slowcore, musique concrète, post-hardcore and noise rock. Lyrical themes addressing gender dysphoria, lonerism, and identity, are sung softly against screeching feedback, assertive drum lines, acoustic guitars caked in tape saturation, and excursions in sound collage. Phillips also releases music under air balloon, hooded jumper, and plays in mullholland, pascagoula, shbbp.
Dog Head Valley is a multicultural folk project from Lyn Gasper, backed by a rotating collective of musicians playing a songs inspired by traditional English, Irish, Turkish, and Chinese folk, through a doom metal and punk lens.
