About this Event

Join Heather Smith from Mental Health America of the MidSouth as she presents, "Agency and Student Well-Being." In this session we will discuss the education philosophy known as the "capability approach" and apply that to the goal of empowering our students and their families' goals for their education. We will discuss ways to use this as educators to partner with and empower our students and families. We will look at tangible classroom strategies such as: creative expression strategies for understanding student's intention and collaborating with families to understand and empower their educational goals for their children.

This session is a part of our Conscious Discipline/SEL series and is appropriate for teachers, instructional coaches, leadership, and caregivers of children of all ages.
