Ziskakan a renowned Maloya group from Réunion Island has been redefining music since its formation in 1979. Led by the charismatic Gilbert Pounia the band brings together a talented ensemble of musicians blending traditional Maloya rhythms with modern influences and the rich sounds of Indian instruments. For nearly 45 years Ziskakan has crafted a sound that’s both timeless and ever-evolving drawing from African Asian and European influences to create a fusion that’s soulful vibrant and deeply rooted in culture.
