There are many ways to be involved in roller derby and some of the most rewarding and crucial roles don’t involve playing a full contact sport.We have skating officials (referees) as well as non-skating officials (NSOs) who are essential to putting on a game. So whether or not you feel comfortable on wheels, roller derby has a place for you.
Because officials are so integral to our sport and we’re looking to build our community, RSRD is offering a two day FREE officiating clinic!
The clinic is open to individuals that want to learn to NSO and/or Referee for the first time as well as experienced officials that want to hone their skills.
The Officiating Clinic will take place from 3-5pm on both days, with a scrimmage to follow from 5-7pm, for practicing the skills reviewed in the clinic.
There will also be ample timeouts in the scrimmage for officials to troubleshoot and learn.
