Winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society's 2024 Instrumentalist of the Year Award, Jasdeep Singh Degun was born in Leeds, but his music evokes whole worlds, and his sitar playing…well, let’s just say that it has to be heard to be believed.Tonight at The Tung Auditorium he joins the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and tabla virtuoso Harkiret Bahra to perform his own Sitar Concerto Arya – a lyrical, brilliantly imaginative tale of different musical cultures, united by a willingness to explore, and (above all) by the spirit of song. Concessions for Liverpool Philharmonic concerts at The Tung Auditorium: under-25s, students and those in receipt of Universal Credit or Jobseekers’ Allowance can purchase tickets for the concessionary price of £9, subject to availability.
A booking fee of 8% will apply to purchases made by telephone or online.
This performance is not likely to be suitable for children under 5 due to the acoustics in the auditorium. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
