Did you know that Queen Emma of Normandy—who lived over 1,000 years ago—was once a landowner in Witney? Her legacy still lives on in places like Queen Emma’s Dyke and Queen Emma’s Primary School!
To celebrate Witney’s royal connections, we’re inviting you to join us from 10am–1pm on Wednesday 20th August at Witney and District Museum for a free, family-friendly drop-in workshop!
Get ready to step into royal shoes (or crowns!) and let your imagination shine. You can:
🎨 Design and decorate your own crown
🏰 Learn about Queen Emma and what life was like over 1,000 years ago.
👑 Imagine your own royal story – What kind of ruler would you be?
No experience needed and all materials are provided. Children and young people under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
This is a relaxed, drop-in event – pop in any time between 10am and 1pm.
Entry to the museum is free. Donations welcome.
We can’t wait to see your royal creations!
