About Roy Earl Anderson:
As a Saskatchewan-born roots musician, Roy Earl Anderson’s songwriting echoes the countless hours spent enjoying music with family and friends. Whether sharing the stage, weaving melodies in living room jam sessions, singing across the waters of northern rivers, or soaking in the musical comradery of the campfire - Roy’s flatland songwriting style is molded by the artists and songs at the heart of these experiences.
Roy Earl Anderson and the Postmen will share a selection of tested tunes Roy wroteand performed as a partner in AndersonBurko, a curated mix of cover tunes, and new originals being road-tested for his inaugural solo album. Lucas Goetz, Chris Mason (both former members of Deep Dark Woods) and Ross Neilsen (… Ross Neilsen) have come together as the Postmen – a dynamic, talented group of musicians.
Roy is a singer/songwriter living in Lumsden, Saskatchewan. He took guitar lessons from a young Jack Semple in the late 70s, and started singing and performing shortly after that. Roy performed at many of the acoustic venues that existed back in the early 80s, and went on to front The MuckRakers, a Saskatoon-based blues and roots band. A musical partnership with Darrell Burko grew from their time together with the MuckRakers, and their shared respect for great singer/songwriters inspired the duo to step into the songwriting arena. AndersonBurko staged multiple tours across Saskatchewan and Alberta, and released three albums of original music – Enjoy the Show (2009), Mitch’s Garage (2011), and the self-titled AndersonBurko (2014).
