Magic flutes, thieving magpies, barbers in Seville, Turkish harems…we’re delightfully raising the curtain on a new era of the best live music in Northern Michigan, just as we’ve been doing for over 70 years! Rossini’s ebullient overtures made it into general consciousness when Looney Tunes composers used them to accompany antics of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck–they are just as fun to hear in concert without the cartoons! Mozart’s works likewise broke into pop culture via cinema with the classic film “Amadeus” and have remained culture phenomena for 250 years and counting.
